GETTING PUBLISHED INTERNATI0NALLY

Image
It's always incredible to assist my clients in getting published in the international arena. Here, we achieved an all-important click through for jobs board Executive Placements, on the UK website entitled Global Banking & Finance Review : https://www.globalbankingandfinance.com/3-trends-shaking-up-the-finance-and-retail-banking-sector/ Well done, team!

The thing about Africa, is that people are mistaken – in general – re its level of development.  What a city may look like... ...varies greatly from the appearance (and general facilities) of a rural area in close pr oximity: My face when I get a little of this (remote) convo & c ompany, though: #saynomore ;-)

WHEN H0ME B0DIES VENTURE 0UT

Some days you just get the sense that you shouldn't head out. Today was one of those days. My son wanted to draw and build numerous lego constructions; and I wanted to finish the household chores and knock myself out with online high-intensity interval (hiit) training. But we had plans; plus it was our turn to head out, rather than friends coming our way. The bonus? My son got to play with the perfect Alsatian pup, and I had the opportunity for coffee and a chat with my female bestie. En route, I messaged my Joburg "mom", telling her I'd figured out the reason for my post-op anxiety – traffic noise. It really makes sense when you consider that I last went under general anaesthetic at age 19, after breaking both legs in a car accident on a busy main road (I was cycling to a fitness class at the time).  My solution, in terms of walking routes, has been to find the below: a soothing, nature-heavy route with limited cars passing, i...

HAPPY PLACE

Image
I've just completed a very busy morning's work, and am now taking a breather for a neighbourhood walk. Balance, I find, is important in a busy schedule – plus: the more time I take to boost my own spirits with exercise and other healthy pursuits, the more I have to give to colleagues, clients, and most especially my precious son. This image was taken in one of the many coffee shops where I set up my mobile "office" each morning, and work surrounded by strangers, tunes and the general buzz of conversation. #gottaloveit #bestcoffee #creativevibes

SP0TLIGHT 0N GH0STING

A phenomenon I've been researching recently is that of ghosting. It can happen at the hand of a client, but more than likely most people will first experience it via the practice of ending a romantic relationship with a partner, by suddenly and without explanation withdrawing from all forms of communication. It is understandable when one partner in a relationship meets someone new, whom they are particularly spellbound by – but then the done thing is to make contact with your previous partner and explain that you are moving on. For those who lack the maturity to take this step, or are unsure if the current scenario will last – the ghosting may simply be a "pause", in which time with the new partner is enjoyed. When things quieten off, time with the golden oldie will be sought,  once  again. I think a big part of a recent panicky episode I experienced, was due to feeling (romantically) alone after an operation, and pre...
